The LOVELY ladies of Shop Modern Gypsy asked me to be the next feature on their GIRL POWER series for their blog. I copied and pasted the interview questions for you guys to read here! & the link to the full blog post is HERE.
1. TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF & WHAT YOU DO!
I am a BRAND NEW writer and blogger. I just launched my website ( www.anikacapozza.com ) at the end of January and am mainly just focused on health and nutrition right now.
Along with the launch of my blog, I wrote a short E-book called “WE’RE NOT ON A DIET!” which is a realistic meal plan and cookbook that includes several recipes & healthy tips/tricks for consuming alcohol, eating at a restaurant, etc.. Having the strict guidelines of a “diet” can totally suck. I strive to continue to develop a blog where people can find yummy recipes, tips, and tricks to become HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER, without the strict guidelines of a diet. Soon, I want to start writing about much more like fashion, styling, modeling, skincare, you name it.
2. WHAT DOES "GIRL POWER" MEAN TO YOU?
The word “power” tends to have negative connotations that surround it, mainly because people tend to abuse power. But, “Girl Power” to me is nothing like that. To me, it means being strong, brave, and being authentically YOU. It means being able to empower and inspire other women and lift them up towards their personal goals and desires, while fulfilling yours at the same time.
As a new writer and blogger, I made a list of the words and phrases that I believed would help any business/brand succeed. On this list, I wrote “be authentic”. I work towards this everyday. I want MY personality to shine! I want other women to be able to read my words, get to know me, and feel inspired to be authentically THEMSELVES. This is the feeling that I get when I read some of my favorite bloggers posts. Women being able to empower other women to be authentically themselves, totally embodies this idea of “girl power” <3
“My girl power role models have definitely taught me to be ME, while still inspiring me to create and go for my dreams. ”

3. HOW CAN ANY GIRL FIND HER OWN POWER?
There has to be SOMETHING every girl – and every human for that matter – LOVES to do. You know that little something that you think about every day, something you know you are passionate about? How can you make this dream become a reality and become your lifestyle? All women have the “girl power” within them to DO. Join a community of women who empower each other, who share, create, invent, inspire, and GO-FOR-IT together. That to me is POWER. We all have the power within us, sometimes we just need to ignite that flame.
4. WHO ARE YOUR GIRL POWER ROLE MODELS?
I have so many. It ranges from some of my favorite female musicians to some of my favorite bloggers. Right now, one of my favorite girl power role models is Lauryn Evarts of ‘The Skinny Confidential’. She is someone who has this power to make her blog posts feel like a conversation. This is somewhat hard to explain… but she basically gives a string of words, words written on a screen, so much LIFE. She gives these words so much personality. When you’re reading, it feels as if you’re having a one-on-one conversation with her IN PERSON, despite the fact that they are just words on a screen. Seriously, if you haven’t already, you should definitely go check her out!
5. IF YOU HAD TO PICK ONE SONG THAT REPRESENTS GIRL POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I read this question, and a song started playing in my head… “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” by Nancy Sinatra… I MEAN, DUH.
